About Us
The Willunga High School community is driven by our core values of respect, responsibility, resilience and success. These values and our commitment to wellbeing for learning have created a welcoming and inclusive school that fosters connection and belonging to enhance student outcomes and support them to achieve to their highest potential.
The school setting, with expansive grounds and modern classrooms provide an excellent environment for students to experience modern, inclusive and challenging learning experiences.
We value and encourage strong community engagement within our school. We strive to develop learners that have strong agency, leadership and voice in their learning journey at, and beyond, school. The connection to our community and a focus on our students’ wellbeing for learning enables them to develop themselves academically, socially and emotionally on their way to becoming highly successful global citizens
Our students in years 7 to 10 experience their learning through the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program (IBMYP), a framework used to teach the SA Curriculum that values and grows the whole child while creating opportunities to stretch and challenge students in their learning. The IBMYP prepares students exceptionally well for their studies in the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE). This supports them to perform exceptionally well across all areas of the curriculum.
Our highly skilled and devoted teaching and ancillary staff are committed to providing a schooling experience underpinned by high quality teaching and learning experiences. Learning at Willunga High School is a personalised, challenging and engaging journey that starts with every teacher getting to know their students, their goals and aspirations and developing positive and productive relationships. Our high expectations, high academic standards and broad curriculum offerings provide students pathways through school that allow them to pursue their preferred post school pathway, be that into university, further study or vocational pathways.
The development of an internationally minded school community is an important part of our work at Willunga High School. We provide our students with opportunities to develop their knowledge, skills and intercultural understandings so that they are equipped to engage with and influence society in an internationalised world. Opportunities to travel interstate and overseas and participate in enriching cultural and co-curricular programs are provided to all our students. Each year we host International Study Tours and have international students join our students in their classes for study abroad experiences. Having these students joining our school community provides our families and students with highly enriching cultural learning experiences, particularly when they host international visitors in their homes.
