Coming to Australia was definitely one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. First I was really excited, but also really nervous about meeting my host family and going to a new school. But this turned out not to be a problem. My host family was the best I could have had. I wasn’t just a guest; I felt like I was part of the family. It was always fun to spend time with them and they took me to some amazing places and showed me the Australian culture.

School in Australia was really different than what I was used to. But it was really interesting to try out subjects such as Agriculture and Food & Society, which I couldn’t do in Germany. It was easy to become integrated and make good friends that I’m really thankful for and spend a lot of time with. I really enjoyed the time in Australia! I gained so many experiences and met wonderful people that I miss badly. I wouldn’t change a thing.

I am glad this school gave me the opportunity to have such an amazing experience here: I learnt how to surf (in some way), I had a robot baby in Child Studies, I have been to Port Adelaide with other international students and I completed a 3-day bushwalking trek with my Outdoor Education class.

The school here, compared to Italy is so much fun. Here you still have to study, but then you actually practice what you have learnt with various activities.

Three weeks fly so fast! I have spent a great time in Australia thanks to my homestay family. I truly enjoyed everything that we did together, it was one of the best memories of my life.

I’ll never forget my experience in Australia. When I get older I’ll come here and I’ll live in Adelaide!

I am writing this letter because I want to show my gratitude. Thank you to my host family for looking after me so well. I have learnt a lot about the importance of family.

The best memory I have is when we went to the Zoo on the weekend. Living with my host family has been so much fun. I would love to return again to Australia!
