Aboriginal Education

Willunga High School is proud to offer extensive support for our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and their families.


Our support includes:

  • Providing a culturally safe learning space for students
  • Advocacy for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and caregivers
  • Support with social and emotional wellbeing
  • 1:1 tutoring for senior students
  • Developing Individual Learning Plans
  • Support with career planning and links to tertiary institutions
  • Linking students with community and cultural events
  • Referring students or family members to external services
  • Supporting staff in implementing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives across the curriculum
  • Cultural assistance for staff

We have a decorated history of connecting with events and organisations such as:

  • Southern NAIDOC Week march
  • Annual Nunga Tag rugby tournament
  • Visits to Flinders University and Adelaide University
  • Southern Reconciliation Week
  • South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) conferences
  • Southern WorkAbout Centre
  • South Australian Sports Training Academy (SAASTA)
